Each month the OIS Multimedia Lab sponsors a series of Web Development classes. These classes are available to School of Medicine faculty and staff and to medical students working on faculty curriculum projects. This series will teach you how to build a web page and publish it for the world to see.
Classes are held in 67 MacNider, site of the OIS Multimedia Lab, begin at noon and last approximately an hour. Space is limited, so to ensure a seat in a class, advance registration is required. Please complete the registration form.

Web Development Series I: Creating Webpages with Dreamweaver
Prerequisite: Familiarity with PC or Mac.
Newcomers to webpage design will benefit from this intensive class taught using the Dreamweaver software. Learn how to create professional webpages based on today's design principles as well as the School of Medicine's standards. In this class you'll learn Dreamweaver basics, such as how to make a simple page with text, images, color, tables, and hyperlinks, as well as how to target your audience and organize materials. You'll also learn how to save pages to the server, and how to add interest using pictures from scans, clip art and other web sites. This class will last 60 minutes.

Web Development Series II: Publishing Your Web Site
Prerequisite: Web Development Series I: Creating Webpages with Dreamweaver
After you have completed 'Creating Webpages with Dreamweaver,' the next step in web development is publishing the site to the web. In this class, you will learn how files are transferred onto a server so that it is available on the web for others to see. We will go over how to obtain your own web space or how to get access to your department web space. You will practice publishing and editing web site files on mock space on the Medical School server.
