OIS Help Desk has moved!

Good News! OIS will be making some moves over the next two weeks that will put our help desk, client support staff and classroom support staff closer to our customers. Our overall plan is to create two “pods” of support staff, one located in MacNider and the other in the Bioinformatics building. We will close our current help desk in Wing B and open two new help desks, one in 63 MacNider and one on the ground floor of Bioinformatics. The following is the schedule of events:

• Friday, July 31 – Help Desk in Wing B closes at the end of the day.
• Monday, August 3 – New Help Desk opens in 63 MacNider at 9:00 am.  Walk-in hours will remain 9am-4pm.
• Thursday, August 6 – Client Services, Classroom Support, and Video Engineering staff move into their respective offices in MacNider and Bioinformatics.
• Monday, August 10 – New Help Desk opens on the ground floor of Bioinformatics, across from the auditorium (follow the signs).

We are also in negotiation with main campus ITS to migrate our phone support to them. By doing this, we will be able to provide 24x7 telephone support for our customers. It will also allow our help desk staff to focus on our walk-in customers without continuous telephone interruptions. We anticipate starting that transition early this fall.
