How do I access my email or calendar from off campus using Webmail?

You can access your email or calendar from off campus by using the School of Medicine Webmail or WebExchange Service.

Accessing SOM LDAP email using Webmail:

School of Medicine Webmail is a service that allows you to access your LDAP email from remote locations using a web browser.

Open an internet browser (Firefox or Internet Explorer) and go to the Webmail site: http://webmail.med.unc.edu. Log in to your email using your LDAP email username and password.

From the Options tab in webmail, you can create a vacation message, change your password or personal settings, and check your account information such as your mailbox quota.

Please Note: Webmail provides you with access to only those email folders you have stored on the SOM email server; folders stored in local mail on your campus computer will not be available to you through webmail. Also your address book is not available in webmail.

Accessing SOM Exchange email using WebExchange (Department of Medicine users only!):

If you are with the Department of Medicine (4228) and have a SOM Medicineexch account, you can check your email and calendar online by going to the Microsoft Outlook Web Access page: http://medexch.med.unc.edu

Please note: You must use Internet Explorer (version 5.0 or higher) to view this page. Netscape, Mozilla, or Safari will not work! To log in to your account, type your domain username next to Log On, then click on "click here."
